DEI MATTERS for Parents, Caregivers, and Community Members
DEI MATTERS for Parents, Caregivers, and Community Members
DEI MATTERS for Parents, Caregivers, and Community Members is an online self-paced personal learning and development course. Many parents and caregivers of school-aged children want to empower themselves and their children with knowledge of DEI topics. Many community members (with or without children) are also looking for knowledge on DEI topics to support their own growth and development. In all of these groups, many people are not sure where to start or how to focus their learning. Let’s change that! This approximately five-hour online self-paced course gives parents, caregivers, and community members access to four learning modules through webinars that intentionally connect to one another and carve out a pathway for parents and caregivers to walk the walk of parenting with DEI in mind. This introduction to DEI journey prepares parents, caregivers, and community members through module topics that include: (1) DEI Literacy: Key terms and concepts; (2) Social identities and education; (3) Microaggressions, bias and education; (4) Allyship and solidarity.
Disclaimer: Enrollment in the course will remain active for 6 months from date of purchase. Webinar recordings are viewable only and not available for download. This course is not a train-the-trainer and the course curriculum is not permitted to be copied and distributed in other training sessions.
Content-warning: The content you learn about in this course includes topics that are sensitive and that may make you feel emotionally uncomfortable. Emotional discomfort may occur around content that connects to your own lived experiences or around content that connects to the lived experiences of your child(ren), the child(ren) in your care, or others. Please remember your participation in the DEI MATTERS course is voluntary, and you can stop your participation at any time.
